I have seen something like this in a Menulet on the right of menu items and I can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone elaborate? Thank you!

I found out that it is called a badge but no clue how to add it to a menu item...

We've had discussions before about Menulet/Menubar applications. http://www.cocoaforum.com/2010/06/29/drag-and-drop-menulet/

The class NSMenuItem has an image property and I suppose you can set this to get the result you want.
